SRX24175643: Genome sequence of antagonistic strain KRS009
1 PACBIO_SMRT (Sequel II) run: 23,246 spots, 223M bases, 54Mb downloads

Design: DNA is first processed into fragments of appropriate size by g-TUBE.Then the fragment undergoes damage repair and end repair, and both ends of the DNA fragment are connected to a hairpin structure to form a dumbbell structure, known as SMRTbell. The annealed smrtbell is mixed with the polymerase at the bottom of ZWM, which will be used for final sequencing.

show Abstracthide Abstract
Several species of the genus Bacillus are used as plant growth-promoting bacteria. In particular, species of the Bacillus halotolerans group are known as good antagonists of phytopathogenic fungi, and it had been extensively studied in their ability to promote plant growth and control plant diseases. Here, Bacillus halotolerans KRS009 was isolated from the rhizosphere soil of a healthy plant found in a pathogen-infested cotton field from Xinjiang, China, and found that it is antagonistic to various phytopathogenic fungi including Verticillium dahliae, Botryis cinerea, etc, by fermentation broth and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). KRS009 also promotes plant growth and has good biological control ability, and may have the potential to alleviate plant salt stress.
